The Waratah Australian Film Festival opened at the South China Movie City in Luohu District yesterday on 16th May, 2006, offering locals a taste of the Australian film industry. Cosponsored by the city’s culture bureau, the Australian Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General of Australia in Guangzhou, the film festival is part of the upcoming China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) and will run until Monday with seven Australian films being staged in turn at the cinema.
