  • Waratah Board Chairman accompanied Consul General to meet with Shenzhen Mayor

    On 15th August, 2006, Waratah Group Board Chairman Mr. Kenny Zhang accompanied Australian Consul General to Guangzhou Mr. Kevin Magee to meet Shenzhen Mayor Mr. Xu Zongheng in Shenzhen Government office. The meeting talked about Australian Capital Territory Government’s plan to set up a commerce office in Shenzhen to promote futher cooperations including economic and education between the two countries through bridging the cooperations between Australian certain first class schools and universities, and Shenzhen relavant institutions and organizations.

    Mr. Kenny Zhang reported to Mayor Mr. Xu Zongheng on the founding of Canberra Commerce Office in Shenzhen and the initial proposal of building Sino-Australia Commercial and Cultural Mansion in Shenzhen. The Mansion was suggested by both Australian Prime Minister Mr. John Howard and Party Secretory Mr. Zhang Dejiang during the Prime Minister’s visit to China in June.They suggested to construct a landmark building in Shenzhen, an exchange platform for Australian business people investing in China, organizations and institutions concerning Sino-Australia economy, trade and cuture, to reinforce the exchange of economy and culture between the two countries. Mayor Mr. Xu Zongheng endorsed the proposal and stated that Shenzhen government would give effective support to the project and urge related departments to coordinate and carry out it.
